About the Author

Once upon a time I was a working mom of one struggling to find a sense of balance while juggling the demands of motherhood, marriage and a full-time job at a small advertising agency in the Twin Cities. Then, slowly but surely, through a series of both fortunate and unfortunate events (some of which are detailed on this blog,) our little world began to shift and virtually everything about our lives changed dramatically.

Today, I am a stay-at-home (and sometimes a work-at-home) mom of two struggling to find a sense of balance while juggling the demands of motherhood, marriage, aging parents and freelance work as a content strategist (a glorified writer) and project manager (every mom, everywhere) still in the Twin Cities.

Other than another kid, no job, crushing medical debt, a crappier car and a different house, the biggest difference between our lives then and now is that I spend even more time crying in the shower. (With two kids and no job or office to go to five days a week the shower is the only place I am ever truly alone.) Also, I now look back on what I thought was our chaotic life and realize how easy we had it then. (#hindsight) Someday, I’m sure the same will be true when I reflect on this season of our lives. But until then, you’ll most likely find me crying in the shower, desperately wondering if I’ll survive long enough to enjoy our happily ever after.
